Area Rug Cleaning Process
We treat each rug uniquely as they are all different in materials and design.
Personalized Care at Springer
Area rugs and carpets are not the same, so we use different methods to maintain their quality. Area rugs often have denser pile construction than carpets, making it more difficult to remove dirt once it makes its way into the fibers and down to the rug’s foundation.
At Springer, we only clean area rugs in our rug salon. We know your rugs require specialized products and machines that are only possible to use in our warehouse. We offer free pickup and delivery of your rugs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but you can always schedule your area rug pickup or drop-off whenever it works best for you! We do ask that you call to schedule in advance before you drop your rug off.
Once your area rug is in our care, you can feel assured that it’s in great hands and will be returned to you looking better than ever.
Why Area Rugs Require Special Cleaning
Our Rug Cleaning Process
Washing
Before washing, we’ll test your rug for colorfastness to determine how susceptible it is to running or fading. If necessary, we will set the dyes in your rug by bathing it in a dye stabilizer. Next, we’ll give your rug a cool water bath using wool-safe detergent and soft brushes.
The length of time your rug spends soaking will depend on how much soil and spotting needs to be removed. After soaking, we’ll safely rinse your rug with water in our state-of-the-art centrifuge.
